Pekulisoap FAQs | Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to our dedicated help center. Here, you will find answers to the most common Pekulisoap FAQs. My goal is to help you understand the benefits of natural skincare. Therefore, please explore the questions below to learn more about my craft.

1. What makes your soaps different to those you can buy in shops?

Most commercial soaps are synthetic detergents. In contrast, I make my soaps using the traditional cold process method. This time-honoured technique naturally keeps the plant-based glycerin within the bar. Consequently, it moisturises your skin beautifully while you wash.

In addition, I use at least 5% superfatting in my formulations. This means that some of the precious plant oils and butters remain unsaponified. As a result, they can still actively care for your skin type during your daily routine.

2. Is this soap safe for people with sensitive skin or eczema?

Yes, absolutely. I am a specialist in the care of problematic and sensitive skin. Ingredients such as colloidal oats, kaolin clay, and almond oil are carefully selected. Specifically, I choose them for their soothing and deeply calming properties.

These natural components help to alleviate skin irritation and mild itching. Furthermore, the soaps are formulated completely without synthetic preservatives or aggressive foaming agents (SLS). Thus, they provide ultimate gentleness for eczema-prone skin.

3. How long does a handcrafted bar of soap last?

Because my luxury soaps contain a high proportion of natural vegetable oils, they are generally firmer. Consequently, they do not soak easily and will last longer. However, you should always place the bar on a well-drained soap dish between uses. This practice allows it to dry completely and extends its life.

4. Where can I find more details about your brand story?

If you want to know more about the inspiration behind my workshop, you can read my full journey. Therefore, please feel free to visit my About me page. Alternatively, if you have a specific question not covered in these Pekulisoap FAQs, you can contact me directly. Simply drop me a message through my official Contact Us page. Ultimately, I am always happy to assist you.

5. Do you use synthetic dyes?

No, I do not use any synthetic colourings. When it comes to colouring, I only use natural mineral clays. Alternatively, I select high-quality mica powders. These are made entirely from natural minerals.

Furthermore, the beautiful scent of my soap comes from pure essential oils. These oils do not just smell wonderful. Consequently, they also bring real therapeutic benefits to your daily routine.

6. Is clary sage soap suitable for everyone?

Clary sage is fantastic for balancing oil production. In addition, it helps in keeping your skin beautifully clear. However, it is generally recommended to avoid clary sage essential oil during pregnancy. This is especially important during the first trimester. If you are pregnant, I highly suggest choosing my lavender soap.

If you are pregnant, I highly suggest choosing my lavender soap. Alternatively, you can select a version completely without essential oils. Ultimately, safety is always my main priority for you and your baby.

7. Why is handmade soap more expensive than store-bought soap?

The price reflects the difference between mass production and careful craft. Specifically, there are three main reasons for this:

- Ingredient Quality: Many commercial soaps are made from animal fats or petroleum. In contrast, I only use premium plant-based oils and butters.

- Natural Glycerin: Mass producers remove this moisturising ingredient to sell it separately. However, in my soap, all the glycerin stays inside the bar to protect your skin.

- Time and Handcrafting: Industrial machines make soap instantly. Conversely, I spend weeks mixing and caring for each batch during the curing process.

As a result, this luxury product does not just cleanse. Instead, it actively heals and nourishes your body.

8. How do you package your soaps, and why?

YI make sure my packaging is just as clean as the soap itself. Therefore, I always use eco-friendly and sustainable materials. This choice includes recyclable paper, natural twine, and compostable elements.

Furthermore, I keep things simple so that the soap can breathe. Consequently, we do not create any unnecessary plastic waste. This special wrapping also protects the precious essential oils from evaporating. Thus, the rich scent stays locked inside until you unwrap the bar in your bathroom.

9. Are your soaps suitable for children aged 3 and older?

Yes, my soaps are generally suitable for children from the age of three. In fact, they are often much gentler than commercial drugstore liquids. Specifically, they contain no harsh foaming agents like SLS or SLES. Instead, they are packed with colloidal oatmeal and nourishing oils that protect a child's delicate skin barrier.

For young children, I highly recommend my lavender, sweet orange, or colloidal oatmeal formulas. However, please be cautious with clary sage or strong grapefruit oils. I recommend reserving these variants for adults.

Finally, if your child has extremely sensitive skin, I always suggest a quick patch test on the inner forearm. Thus, you can ensure a perfect match before a full body bath.
